Oakland Avenue Urban Farms

For more than a decade, against a backdrop of extreme poverty, the Oakland Avenue Farm, the CDC’s key workforce development program, has been a stabilizing force in Detroit’s North End. By growing healthy food, hosting educational programs, creating cultural gathering spaces, and generating jobs, the Farm has been a safety net for the city’s most needy residents.
